New Prevailing Wage Request Process Begins January 1st

Beginning January 1st, the process for obtaining Prevailing Wage Determinations for both nonimmigrant and permanent immigrant visas will change.  Instead of submitting Prevailing Wage Requests to the Department of Labor's individual State Workforce Agencies, all Prevailing Wage Requests will be submitted to a centralized Department of Labor office in Washington D.C.

Prevailing Wage Requests must now be submitted on Department of Labor Form 9141, via mail to :
U.S. Department of Labor –ETA
National Prevailing Wage and Helpdesk Center
Attn: PWD Request
1341 G Street, NW, Suite 201
Washington, DC 200005-3142

The Department of Labor expects to change to the iCert online system by January 20, 2010, but all Prevailing Wage Requests must be submitted by mail until this change is announced.    The Department of Labor is not indicating how long Prevailing Wage requests will take, expect to state that it will process all requests on a first-in first-out system.

This new process applies to applications for H-1B, H-1B1 (Child/Singapore), H-1C, H-2B, E-3 (Australia), and Permanent Labor Certification.
