USCIS Provides Assistance for U.S. Parents Adopting Haitian Orphans
On February 4, 2010, the USCIS published a Q & A for U.S. citizen parents who were already in the process of adopting Haitian orphans, when Haiti was struck by the devastating earthquake last month. The USCIS is permitting orphans who have already been approved for adoption to enter the U.S. as either permanent residents, or on humanitarian parole. For orphans who were not yet at the final stages of the long adoption process, the USCIS has set up an e-mail address for those prospective parents to request additional assistance.
