Obama Says Let's Start Immigration Reform Now
May 5, 2010 -- President Obama said he wants to begin working this year on legislation overhauling the nation's immigration system. This is change from only last week when he commented that there might not be a willingness to handle another hot-button issue this year after the health-care battle and financial regulation. He acknowledged that immigration reform would require bi-partisan support and be difficult to achieve.
He again denounced the law passed in Arizona requiring people to prove to state and local police that they're in the U.S. legally.
