May 12, 2010 -- The USCIS reported that as of May 11, only 18,000 H-1B's had been filed towards the 65,000 cap.  Only 7,600 advanced degree H-1B's had been filed.  The last count was two weeks ago, when the USCIS reported that 16,500 H-1B's had been filed, and an additional 6,900 advanced degree H-1B's.
