July 8, 2010 -- Nonimmigrant visa applicants in China can now make visa appointments at any U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate in China.  In the past, nonimmigrant visa applicants had to go a specific U.S. Embassy/Consulate based on the province or city where they lived.  Now there are no such restrictions on nonimmigrant visa applicants, making it easier and more convenient.  

Consular sections are located at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, and U.S. Consulates General in Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenyang.
